A man is fighting for his life in hospital after an alleged assault on a rural property in Central Victoria today.
Authorities say a 59-year-old man has been arrested in Wheatsheaf, east of Daylesford, following an "altercation" this morning.A man in his 60s has been flown to the Alfred Hospital in a critical condition with "serious upper body injuries"Country Fire Authority said crews extinguished a fire that impacted a nearby forested area at the same time the incident occurred.
It has not yet been confirmed whether the fire, which was first reported as an explosion, was related to the incident."Police are working to establish the exact circumstances of the incident and the investigation is ongoing," a spokesperson said.Local news direct to your inbox
