A former Salt Lake City Police Chief is speaking out after officers seized what they called a "mostly assembled" rifle from a tourist at a mall.
The tourist had reportedly made a remark that made a coffee shop employee concerned for the well-being of another person. "The thing that is most challenging and unusual in the state of Utah is that any of us could strap a rifle on and walk through that mall all day long under Utah state law and not be in violation of any laws," said former Salt Lake City Police Chief Chris Burbank.
