The judge also ordered the man to not contact the woman. The officer has not been charged; The Salt Lake Tribune generally does not name suspects until charges have been filed in court. Law enforcement was alerted to the alleged assault on Monday by a forensic nurse, American Fork police officer Marquel Whetton said in a probable cause statement. The suspect is being held on suspicion of four felony offenses: aggravated assault, forcible sexual abuse, forcible sodomy and object rape.
The woman had told the officer by text that she didn’t like guns, the report said, and he told her when she arrived at his home in American Fork that he had put his firearms away.
