Columbus police are investigating after an unknown caller reported a man surrounded by blood inside a residence near Weinland Park.

The scene is on the 1300 block of North Grant Avenue at Grant Park Apartments, and the incident happened just before 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Medics arrived at the scene and pronounced the victim dead. Police are still trying to determine how the deceased male sustained his injuries. Police have also told ABC 6 News that another person, whom they believe is connected somehow to the death, was injured and taken to the hospital by someone other than authorities or medical personnel.
The Columbus Division of Police has notified the homicide unit, which is standard protocol in such situations. While police have not officially classified the incident as a homicide, authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
