Officers responded to an unnamed block on Turk Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood just after 1:30 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound.

One person was fatally shot in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, near San Francisco City Hall, early Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to an unnamed block on Turk Street just after 1:30 a.m. and found a man with a gunshot wound. They attempted to perform CPR on the man, and medics eventually arrived at the scene, police said. The man was transported to a local hospital by paramedics from the SF Fire Department, but he died of his injuries at the hospital.

Police have not made an arrest in the case. The shooting is an open and active investigation, led by the SFPD Homicide Detail. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call the department at 415-575-4444 or text the tip line at TIP411.
