D.C. police are investigating a fatal shooting of a man that occurred Thursday, Oct. 12, in Northeast Washington.

Police said officers responded for a report of gunshots and found the wounded man. Police said he was taken to a hospital, where he died. He was identified as Carlos Haythe, 21, of Northeast Washington. No arrest has been made, and police did not comment on a possible motive. Homicides in D.C. are up 35 percent this year, compared with the same period in 2022.
