A man was arrested and faces a murder charge five months after a deadly shooting at an Arlington apartment complex, police said Friday.
Officers responded at about 10 p.m. June 6 to an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Cypress Club Drive after residents reported hearing gunshots. Police found an unresponsive man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.Residents told police they heard Holliman arguing with someone before he was shot.
Police said Holliman then got into an argument with a woman and pushed her, prompting another man to confront Holliman. Several moments later, shots were fired, police said.Police said anonymous tips through CrimeStoppers of Tarrant County indicated that an individual called “Mike Mike” was the shooter. Police were later able to determine “Mike Mike” was the alias of Robert Kelly, 31.
Witnesses also came forward and placed Kelly at the scene, with one witness telling police Kelly was seen with a firearm moments before the shooting. Police also determined Kelly regularly stayed in the apartment where the shooting occurred and located ammunition near Kelly’s belongings that matched the type used in the shooting.
When police attempted to speak with Kelly, they learned he had left Arlington shortly after the shooting. Police obtained a warrant for his arrest, and he was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Shreveport, Louisiana on Thursday.Kelly was booked into the Caddo Parish jail on a charge of murder.
