Man expected to survive injuries after being shot several times, police say

A man was shot in the stomach and a bullet grazed his head Wednesday night at an apartment complex in southwest Houston, according to Houston Police Department officialsAround 9:30 p.m. patrol officers were dispatched to the shooting at an apartment complex on the 12500 block of Dunlap Street. When officers arrived paramedics were taking the man to a hospital.

Preliminary investigation revealed the man drove to the apartment complex, met with another person and an altercation happened, Izaguirre said. “The suspect, which at this point we don't have the identity of him, displayed a handgun and discharged it several times,” he said. The man who was shot said he knows the person who shot him, but police did not have a lot of description as of Wednesday night.“He hasn't given us the full story yet, he's been very brief with it,” Izaguirre said of the victim.

Officers from the major assaults unit went to the scene Wednesday night to conduct follow up investigation, interview witnesses and look for possible surveillance footage.
