A man died from severe burns after becoming trapped by a fire during hazard reduction burning on his property in the state’s Central West on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to The Bogan Way in Forbes at about 11.30am after the man suffered serious burns. Police said the 75-year-old man was conducting a hazard reduction burn on one of his paddocks, with the help of NSW Rural Fire Service members and family, when he became trapped by the fire.Paramedics and RFS members treated him at the scene before he was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he died on Saturday night.Police said initial inquiries suggested the circumstances of the man’s death were not suspicious.
