The man, who was not identified, was pulled from the water in Strathmere, authorities said.

Emergency responders were called to the Taylor Avenue beach in Upper Township shortly after noon for a report of two swimmers in distress, according to a statement from the town.

When they arrived, witnesses told them that one of the two swimmers had resurfaced and had been brought to shore by a good Samaritan while the other was still unaccounted for, authorities said.
