AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man has died after he was shot while standing on the porch of a home in what police are calling a “senseless killing.” The shooting occurred at about 11:40 p.m. Saturday on the 2100 block of 12th Street SW, which is just north of Kenmore Boulevard and east of Interstate 76. Police say the 26-year-old victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.
No other details have been released and detectives still are trying to determine a possible motive for the shooting. Shell casings and other evidence were found at the scene, but no arrests have been made. Police say they are working to identify suspects.
