Haseem Majid plunged the blade up to 16 times into the body of Mohammed Duraab Khan - but denies murder
A 22-year-old Nottingham man killed a potential love rival by repeatedly stabbing him with a sword on the forecourt of a petrol station, a trial has heard. Haseem Majid plunged the blade up to 16 times into the body of Mohammed Duraab Khan after following a car he was in onto the forecourt in Meadow Lane , close to Lady Bay Bridge, a jury was told.
Mr Burrows said Mr Khan was in the passenger seat of a black Audi being driven by a friend called Arfan Alyas. He said it stopped on the Texaco petrol forecourt where Mr Alyas began filling with fuel. “Haseeb Majid stabbed Duraab Khan four times, Mr Khan fell to the ground and dropped the steering wheel and Mr Majid continued the attack, stabbing Duraab Khan 11 more times before going back to the car, stabbing the driver's side and running off. CCTV shows 15 stabbing motions, a cashier heard shouting and said he saw Duraab Khan on the ground and then saw Haseeb Majid moving his arm in an up and down motion.
The prosecutor said Majid had been in a relationship with a woman but that ended and she later became friends with Duraab Khan. He said during January, 2024, in the lead up to the killing, the defendant said he had encountered the victim on more than one occasion during one of which he said Mr Khan had threatened to kill him and so he began keeping a knife in his car for protection.
