The man accused of randomly attacking people with a hammer at the Beacon Hill Link light rail station in September appeared in a courtroom for the first time.

When my client was arrested, he was delusional, and when he was interviewed, he was delusional,” Gordon’s attorney argued. “He remains delusional, and that affects his ability to assist me and his ability to understands the proceedings against him.”The alleged attacks occurred just before 4 p.m. on Sept. 28. Court documents say Gordon assaulted a 63-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man outside of the Beacon Hill station. Both suffered head injuries and were sent to the hospital for treatment.
"This is exactly the kind of case King County prosecutors are going to rush file," said Casey McNerthney, a spokesperson for the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. "When you have a violent attack like this, particularly on a victim at random, that’s concerning. The public wants to know we’re going to follow through, and we are."
On May 28, Seattle police responded after Gordon’s ex-boyfriend said Gordon threatened him with a hammer. The next day, on May 29, his ex-boyfriend accused him of threatening him with a hammer once again.
