The charge against a Fort Worth carjacking suspect was upgraded from aggravated robbery to murder, court documents show.
A man previously indicted on an aggravated robbery charge in a Fort Worth carjacking now faces a murder charge in the case, according to court documents.
Jarmel Johnson, 33, remained in custody Sunday at the Tarrant County jail also facing a litany of other charges, including aggravated sexual assault, theft and credit or debit card abuse, records show.His bond for the murder charge is set at $50,000, records show. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.Johnson was initially arrested in the carjacking about a week after it occurred on Dec. 23 in the 150 block of East Loop 820.
