Additional charges have been filed against the 44-year-old man accused of going on a shooting spree along Interstate 5 in King and Pierce counties.

Charges were filed on Sept. 5, 2024, by King County prosecutors against Eric Perkins , 44, who is accused of going on a shooting spree along I-5 in King and Pierce counties on Sept. 2, 2024. Perkins faces five counts of first-degree assault and is being held in jail on $1 million bail. Eric Perkins now faces a total of nine counts of first-degree assault and one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Three other victims had non-life-threatening injuries to their legs, and another victim was hospitalized after being shot in the neck.when troopers reported the first three shootings along northbound I-5 near State Route 18 and Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Seattle. Around 11 p.m., another round of shootings occurred on southbound I-5 between Federal Way and north Pierce County. Investigators believe these shootings were random.

The WSP said Wednesday morning a motorcyclist in Bothell also reported being shot at Monday night by someone in a white Volvo, which matches the suspect vehicle description given by victims in the other shooting incidents. The motorcycle in the Bothell incident was hit twice, but the rider was not injured, according to WSP.
