A motive for the alleged murder was under investigation, according to the San Jose Police Department.
San Jose police announced on Wednesday that a man was arrested on suspicion of murder after calling authorities and reporting his wife was dead.
SJPD officers were called just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday to a home located in the 1300 block of Foxdale Loop"on a report of a deceased female at a residence" and found the woman at the scene unconscious and not breathing. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and exact manner of death were not immediately released.
"The reporting party, an adult male and the victim’s husband, was contacted at the residence and detained," the SJPD reported."He was subsequently arrested for homicide and will be identified in the coming days." A motive for the killing was under investigation, according to the department. Anyone with information was asked to contact SJPD Homicide Unit Detective Sgt. Martinez or Detective Ancelet at 408 277-5283.
