A man in Portsmouth, Ohio, has been arrested after shooting a deputy sheriff who responded to a domestic disturbance call. The suspect, Michael Bishop, 39, is facing multiple charges including attempted murder and felonious assault.

Authorities say they received information that the suspect had contacted an individual asking for assistance fleeing the area, and they were set to meet at a park on Dogwood Ridge. The SWAT team and deputies set up surveillance near the park and observed an individual coming from a tree line staying in the shadows. The area was secured and SWAT attempted to locate the suspect using a drone and thermal imaging.
