Barry Noone has been charged with murdering his mother Margaret Noone in her home last June

A 46-year old man accused of murdering his mother has accepted he killed her, a court heard on Friday.

Formerly of Ratheen Avenue in Cookstown but with a current address at Daleside Road in London, Noone appeared at Belfast Crown Court via a videolink with Maghaberry. After confirming he could see and hear the court, the accused was then charged with murdering Margaret Noone on June 19, 2022. Mr O'Rourke replied: "That's correct My Lord. The issue is about whether this falls within the diminished responsibility category."
