Surveillance video captured the May shooting of Kareem Jakes in the Sunbury store.
An autopsy determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, Coroner James F. Kelley said.
Defense attorney Robert Hoffa argued the evidence did not support first-degree murder but Matulewicz responded saying it was an intentional shooting. He was arrested driving the car his son was seen on video behind the wheel leaving the store. He told police his son asked him to get the car he had left in the Elysburg area.
