Exclusive: Screen Rant presents a clip from new holiday movie The Christmas Classic, starring Malin Ackerman and Amy Smart as estranged sisters.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Romance and comedy mingle in the perfect holiday cocktail thanks to The Christmas Classic, the latest movie from director Shane Dax Taylor. Co-written by Taylor and Austin Nichols , the story follows Elizabeth Bird as she returns home for the holidays with the express intent of purchasing a ski resort for her boss and future father-in-law.
Aside from Ackerman and Hansen, The Christmas Classic also stars Amy Smart as Elizabeth's sister Lynn, screenwriter Nichols as Lynn's husband Brian, Carlos Alazraqui as Dick Mountain, Will Blagrove as Akeem Baptiste, and a stellar ensemble cast. The plot sees Elizabeth at a crossroads, torn between the controlled life she's been building and the carefree one she's left behind.
Though Lynn and Bryan may appear grating at first, they represent the familial affection and homegrown lifestyle that Elizabeth has eschewed for her more high-powered career and controlling fiance. When Randy makes a bet with her to win the Christmas Classic games or lose her chance at the resort, however, she starts to appreciate everything she's missed out on in the last few years. The Christmas Classic is produced by Quiver Distribution, and it is rated PG-13 with an 86-minute runtime.
