Makwarela’s disgraceful mayoral fail in Tshwane
Makwarela singled out Lesufi, who attended the election, as the key negotiator of the agreement struck between the ANC, EFF and other smaller parties.
According to information gathered by City Press’ sister newspaper Rapport, Cilliers Brink, the DA’s new mayoral candidate for Tshwane, sent a letter to Lesufi on Friday in which he made it clear that the premier’s “direct political involvement” in choosing Murunwa Makwarela of the Congress of the People as mayor made it impossible for him to independently judge matters of intergovernmental support, monitoring and intervention in Tshwane.
