A major Liverpool road has been closed until tomorrow due to two fallen trees. Liverpool City Council has confirmed that Croxteth Hall Lane will remain shut after the fallen trees present a risk to safety. The closure is in place from Deysbrook Lane to Oak Lane. Elsewhere the council has confirmed that there are road closures on Beauclair Drive , Green Bank Road and Central Drive .
The Merseyside Derby was called off, as well at a race meeting at Aintree being cancelled. In Liverpool city centre , Church Street has been closed until further notice due to a risk posed by a damaged building. People are being urged to avoid Church Street after damage to the building where Next is located . Storm Darragh also saw off Liverpool Christmas Markets, as well as the public viewing on the HMS Prince of Wales being cancelled.
