The first few looks in the collection were all about brights: neon yellows, turquoise, and orange. Midway through the collection, the palette shifted to a more somber mood. There was plenty of black, khaki and grey, before more pops of cobalt blue and red returned.
Still, the most powerful thing Maison Margiela executed on in this collection was delving into upcycling. The brand has always proved to be ahead of, and integrating upcycling into a seasonal fashion collection shown on the runways at Paris Fashion Week just proves that even more. Imagine the difference it would make if all of the top designers started reusing existing materials on an everyday basis.
