Married at First Sight UK has been hit by controversy and embroiled in 'fix' claims over a transgender contestant due to appear on the latest series.Ella Morgan, from Weston Super-Mare, is set to make history on the Channel 4 dating show as the first-ever transgender contestant but the move has received a salty reception due to the brides and grooms usually being unaware who they are marrying.
Ella, who was born male and transitioned when she was 20, appears to have kept the news from her new husband until hours after the ceremony as he appears stunned to find out she is trans - but the news that MAFS producers already told him means the dramatic scenes appear to be faked. A spokesperson for the broadcaster confirmed the "groom was told that the match found for him was a trans woman", and both Ella and the groom agreed to proceed with the wedding.
