MACC will probe sukuk fraud, says home minister

Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the MACC should be given ample space to carry out its responsibilities in accordance with the law. On Wednesday, the MACC arrested four people – including the company’s director and chief financial officer – to assist in the investigation into irregularities in the RM596 million sukuk issued for registration, recruitment and biometric data storage of foreign workers.Meanwhile, Saifuddin said police welfare is an ongoing effort and not seasonal or just in conjunction with Police Day.
