IPOH: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) should thoroughly investigate the case involving the arrest of a Bersatu division leader from the Federal Territories, says Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
The Bersatu deputy president said he however found it strange why the case is linked to the party and the party president.
“Yes, investigate the case, but it should not be a political ploy to demonise the previous administration.“I believe that the party’s president has not done anything wrong, but nevertheless let MACC investigate the case,” he said when contacted. Ahmad Faizal, as the deputy president, and his closeness to the president, he could have always been given projects as well.Ahmad Faizal was asked to comment on the man arrested by MACC over alleged graft through the brokering of government projects.
It is understood that the man who is said to have close links to Bersatu’s top leadership is being probed by the graft-busters in relation to the alleged misappropriation of the RM92.5bil Covid-19 stimulus package funds under the Perikatan Nasional government.
