West Yorkshire Police have shut the M62 Eastbound near Lofthouse
The M62 is likely to be shut for 'several hours' following a serious crash which has blocked the motorway near Lofthouse.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in the early hours of Saturday morning. The motorway remains shut while investigation works are being carried out and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours, National Highways reports. National Highways has issued a list of diversions that are in place on Saturday and urge people to plan ahead of their journeys as long delays are expected.Vehicles over 7.5 tonnes are advised to leave the M62 at J27 and follow the M621 to J7 and join the M1 southbound. Follow the M1 south to J42 and rejoin the M62 eastbound at J42.YorkshireLive have asked West Yorkshire Police for more information on this incident.
