Lyft's S.F. headquarters was designed to foster fun and collaboration, yet it is not enough to bring employees back after experiencing more than two years of remote work.
Lyft Inc. is planning a major space reduction at its San Francisco headquarters, citing its shift to a flexible work model.it will begin by shedding 85,000 square feet at 185 Berry St. in China Basin once its lease for that space expires in the first quarter of 2023.
“While we continue to believe that in-person connections are important, many of our team members opted to work remotely after we shifted to a flexible workplace strategy," said on Tuesday. With San Francisco included, the company's corporate offices in those locations total 615,000 square feet, and it plans to make a total of 275,000 square feet across the four locations available for subleasing.
