The latest news from Colombia as the wait for the release of Liverpool player Luis Diaz's father continues
Uncertainty is said to be growing in Colombia as the release of Luis Diaz's father takes longer than expected, with the country's president warning of the 'very dangerous' situation at hand.
This was until Thursday when Colombian government officials were able to name them as the National Liberation Army - the last remaining group of guerrilla fighters in the country. The group were later said to be willing to co-operate and would secure Mr Diaz's release "as soon as possible." Moving on 24 hours since the previous development, there is no sign of Mr Diaz's release as government officials seek a swift resolution. Speaking via the Mail Online in Washington D.C. on a trip to the United States, president Gustavo Petro has said: "The ELN's authorship means the ELN today is responsible for the life of the father of Luis Diaz.
