Gerald Sanders of Lower Dauphin makes a play against Waynesboro in their high school football game. October 18, 2024. Zach Gleiter | Special to Penn Live Will Lower Dauphin pull off a massive upset? Or will Bishop McDevitt kick off a run to a state title in its first season in 5A?These questions and more will be answered on Friday night at Rocco Ortenzio Stadium, as the No. 6 seed Crusaders host the No. 11 Falcons in the first round of the District 3 5A playoffs.
Bishop McDevitt, for the final time, is led by quarterback Stone Saunders, who hopes to add one more state title to his resume before heading to Kentucky. With a stable of weapons highlighted by Dominic Diaz-Ellis, Maurice Barnes, Nazir Jones-Davis and Jonatai Quick, as well as a defense highlighted by Lucas Lawler and Ju Fuentes-Bream, the Crusaders should be a tough out for anyone in the bracket despite the No. 6 seed.
