THE low pressure area (LPA) spotted off Mindanao has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The weather disturbance estimated 905 east off Mindanao will be named 'Amang' if it intensifies into a tropical depression.Weather forecaster Obet Badrina told The Manila Times that the LPA is affecting Eastern Visayas and Southern Luzon.

'It may develop or not, just the same, we will keep on monitoring the movement of this latest weather disturbance,' Badrina said.Pagasa said the LPA's trough or extension brought overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas and Caraga Region.
