Every day we will see coastal showers to start, but by the afternoon commute you can see a few thunderstorms further inland. These showers will be brief but heavy dropping anywhere from half an inch to two inches.

Saturday, possibly another round of tropical downpours, this time storms mainly south of I-10. There is a flood risk across SE Texas, a 1 out of 4 on the flood scale.Saturday morning showers and storm stream in from the coastHarris county could see some downpours late afternoon through Saturday eveningErin will keep major hurricane status until Thursday.

Thankfully Erin will not make landfall anywhere instead it will get pushed east away from land.Erin will bring indirect to Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands through the Bahamas as it presses northwest. Some areas could pick up 6 inches. Another indirect impact will be large swells creating dangerous rip currents from the Caribbean to the East Coast as Erin moves North. Rain chances drop back to 30 to 40 percent next week, keeping the forecast closer to seasonal norms.
