A Louisiana state official was arrested this week after she was allegedly caught in the middle of a drug transaction with a wanted man as police were closing in to arrest him.
The state attorney general's office had asked for the sheriff's office's help in McCarthy's arrest Tuesday.
When deputies found him near a fast-food restaurant in the Albany area, they found Hull and McCarthy “in the middle of a drug transaction,” officials said. Hull was described as an acquaintance of McCarthy’s. McCarthy fled in a vehicle, striking a car, whose driver sustained minor injuries, the sheriff's office said.Evidence seized by the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office after the arrests of Steven McCarthy and public official Bridgette Hull.Hull and McCarthy were both charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute, including fentanyl and meth, and possession of a firearm with controlled and dangerous substances, the sheriff's statement said.
