The team behind Deadloch has taken to the Logies red carpet wearing pins featuring the Palestinian flag. “It’s our responsibility as an arts community to speak up and speak out,” explained Nina Oyama.For Kate Box, who is nominated for best actress in a comedy, an event like the Logies provides the perfect platform to force a conversation.
“It’s a no-brainer for me to show my support and hopefully get people talking about something that so many people refuse to talk about, we’ve seen what happened in the last week, we’ve seen the power of artists banding together as a community and tonight the Deadloch team wanted to stand up for what’s right.”The show’s creators Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan joined their cast in calling for more effort from the arts community to draw attention to the situation in Palestine.
