Spilt Milk has joined the growing list of Australia n festivals biting the dust after organisers dropped a bombshell on Friday. The multi-city music, food and arts event will not go ahead this year, a short post on its official Instagram page confirmed. “Sorry pookies, we couldn’t get you the Spilt Milk you deserve this year,” it reads. “Sooo Imma dip for a bit and come back when I can make all ur dreams come true. I miss u.

The future of Australian festivals is under a cloud following the cancellation of other major events, including Splendour in the Grass, Groovin the Moo and Falls Festival. Australian Festival Association managing director Mitch Wilson said the soaring cost of running large music events was making it increasingly difficult to do so.
