Following weekend ICE raids in Austin, local immigration advocacy group Camina ATX hosted an open forum to inform the community about their rights and resources. Many attendees expressed fear and uncertainty about the raids, while organizers emphasized the importance of being prepared and informed. Camina ATX offers free resources at multiple locations.

Monday evening the local immigration advocacy group Camina ATX hosted an open forum to share information about rights and resources following Sunday's ICE raids in Central Texas.“I'm concerned for everybody because, at the end of the day, I feel like it's bigger than the community in general," Church member Emmanual Santosdomingez said. "There's just a lot of fear.

After a weekend that saw raids and arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Austin, Camina ATX hosted a panel to provide that education. “Some things have changed in the area, and we've been seeing a lot of ice around and so a lot of people are very concerned, and it's better to be informed rather than have that concern." Jazz Aleman, with the nonprofit, said. While some like Antonio Garcia were there to get connected to resources

“He wants to get his passport because he's scared. He's scared something's going to happen," A translator on behalf of Garcia said. "With this new administration, he doesn't feel safe anymore."“Immigrants have rights. We have a constitution and they have the right to remain silent," Albizu said. "They have the right to also request for an attorney, and have the right to fight their case in an immigration court.

Camina ATX has free resources available at its three locations: Santa Barbara Catholic Church, Del Valle Public Library, and Austin Public Library, Southeast branch at Knuckles Grove.
