Residents of the Hunter Valley region are worried the closure of the Liddell power station will force their local businesses to potentially lay off staff.
“Look, it’s going to be tough, we’re going to lose a lot of work with Liddell,” Muswell Brook Steel Supplies Sales Manager Harry Hobden said.
“Hopefully it doesn’t get to a point we have to lay off staff, it’s going to be the last thing we want to do. “However, with the potential of a large customer like that of ours, there’s always potential for it.”
