Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections. Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at [email protected] local athletes have been highlighted this week for their outstanding performances. Among them are: Fremont junior, who scored 19 points in his team's victory over McClymonds. DeHaro led Live Oak to a win with 21 points and four rebounds against Mt. Pleasant. The senior goalkeeper for Clayton Valley totaled four saves in their shutout win over Campolindo. Guillermo averaged 22.5 points across two games for Santa Teresa, propelling them to wins against Westmont and Willow Glen. Harris led Valley Christian to a historic win over Archbishop Mitty, scoring a game-high 19 points. Other notable performances include: a junior who scored 16 points for Berkeley in their win over Bishop O'Dowd, a sophomore who tallied 23 points for Liberty in their victory over Antioch, and Oliver, who led YV to a win with 22 points, six rebounds, and two blocks.Thurlow scored two goals and dished out three assists for Menlo- Atherton, securing a 5-1 victory over Sequoia. Villanueva led Independence to a decisive win with a game-high 26 points against Piedmont Hills
