Casey Chavez, a sophomore guard from O’Connor, was named Player of the Week. She averaged 28 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals in wins against Stevens (60-20) and Taft (70-47). Chavez set a school record with 41 points against Taft. Other notable performances include Alana Afflerbach from La Vernia who had 15 points and 20 rebounds in a 63-31 win against Gonzales. Chloe Donnell from Boerne reached the 1,000 career point mark during the Boerne ISD Tournament.
Berkley Hart from Alamo Heights had 37 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in a 58-53 win against New Braunfels. Rhyan Montez from Poth had 31 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 61-39 win against Nixon-Smiley. Rosanelly Pastrano from LEE had 38 points, 11 steals, eight assists and five rebounds in an 88-38 win against Roosevelt. Coaches can nominate athletes at [email protected] by noon each Monday
