Don’t panic.
On March 30, 13 days after they first noticed the symptoms, they got a call confirming they were positive for the virus. She never parted from her kids even when the positive results came. It was a decision she based on the advice of her family doctor who told her she can continue breastfeeding. They took stock of what they had – food, people willing to help them out, and the comfort of their own home.
But to be declared free from the virus, a second negative result is needed. This finally came on April 12, eliciting a burst of joy from their daughter and an immense sigh of relief from everyone.In the days of uncertainty between the positive result and their final negative result, Maan faced the challenge of raising her kids in an atmosphere ripe for despair.
To all these, Maan and Ben chose to answer honestly. They explained the contagiousness of the virus and the concept of physical distancing.Fighting stigma
