Liverpool take on Leicester City in the Premier League this evening with heavy fog settling on the region
Liverpool are hopeful of avoiding a pitch inspection ahead of their Premier League match against Leicester City this evening despite heavy fog engulfing Merseyside on Boxing Day. The Reds host strugglers Leicester in the day's evening kick off hoping to maintain their lead at the top of the table but thick fog has settled on the region over the past 24 hours. However, club officials insist that there has been no inspection of any kind ahead of the game as of 4.30pm.

Minimum temperature 4 °C' Liverpool have already seen one game called off this season, with the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park postponed in early December due to Storm Darragh. The Reds face Leicester this evening before travelling to London to take on West Ham United on Sunday. They are then in action at Anfield on January 5 against Manchester United.
