Liverpool will soon start putting plans in place for the January transfer window
Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Benfica left-back Alvaro Fernandez during the January transfer window. The Reds currently having Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas in their ranks in this part of the pitch, in addition to emerging talents such as Luke Chambers and Owen Beck. Robertson has long been Liverpool's No.1 option, though turned 30 years of age in March and could soon be displaced as the go-to option for Arne Slot.
Liverpool last dealt with Benfica during the summer of 2022 when purchasing Darwin Nunez and would need to be smart negotiators once again due to the fact the 21-year-old is under contract until 2029. The Portuguese giants are said to have 'strength' over the player's future as his release clause is not currently common knowledge.
