It's been a great week for Arne Slot and his Liverpool players, who have bounced back in superb style to that loss to Nottingham Forest with back-to-back victories over AC Milan and Bournemouth. Three goals apiece in both games and you have to credit the mentality and resilience after that home defeat, particularly given Milan scored after just three minutes in their own backyard on Tuesday night.
Luis Diaz is another whose killer instinct we have questioned in the past but he is absolutely flying and I just wonder how much motivation he has taken from the club's interest in Anthony Gordon in the summer. In my day if you heard the club wanted a player in your position it would serve as a kick up the backside and you would start thinking you needed to do more so I can't imagine it is too much different nowadays in the modern game.
