The Eagles are looking for their second straight ACC sweep against the Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon.
BRIGHTON, Mass.— The Boston College Eagles baseball team is looking for its second consecutive series sweep as it takes on the No. 9 Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon.In the opener on Friday, Boston College defeated Virginia 5-3 after putting up a pair of two-run innings in the second and seventh.

Nick Wang led the way with four hits, which included a home run, and two runs batted in while Luke Gallo had three hits and batted four runs in. Left-handed pitcher Brady Miller will start on the mound for the Eagles. The sophomore will be making his fourth appearance of the season. So far in the 2026 campaign, he has pitched 15 innings and allowed eight hits, four runs , walked five batters, and struck out 16. As for the Eagles’ opponent, the Cavaliers will be going with right-handed pitcher John Paone . Paone is a Lexington, Mass., native and will make his seventh start of the year. So far this season, the freshman has pitched 24 innings and allowed 21 hits, 15 runs , walked seven batters, and struck out 23.Kyle Johnson hits into a double play to end the top half of the inning. BC is down to its final three outs.Virginia adds some run support on an RBI single by Harrison Didawick. Massive miscommunication by Wang, Mainolfi, and Toomey who were all going for the ball which dropped fair.Boston College makes a pitching change. John Kwiatkowski comes in to replace Gavin Soares. Noah Jouras gets the Cavaliers' first hit of the day with a one-out double and the top of the order coming out. Carter Hendrickson tried to make a diving catch, but the ball fell just short of him. Luke Gallo hits a bunt single and the bases are loaded for Kyle Wolff, who has hit home runs in back-to-back games this weekend. Carter Hendrickson draws a walk and the Eagles have two on with no outs. Hendrickson's ability to get on base and have quality at-bats since his return from injury has been a massive help to Boston College's offense. Jack Toomey draws a leadoff walk. Toomey got ahead 3-0, then Virginia's pitcher fought back in the count to make it full, but threw a ball outside on the sixth pitch of the at-bat.Noah Murray grounds out to end the top half of the inning. Julio Solier made a great stop and throw to Nick Wang that got there just in time to get the out.Sam Harris strikes out swinging.
