Montgomery, Alabama

Dozens of students from schools in the River Region gathered for networking and career opportunities Sunday. The LINC Up Together Youth Seminar brought juniors and seniors together to collaborate and discuss different career fields.

The professional workshop is designed to give students the opportunity to meet other peers and to learn more about future opportunities to further their education. There were speakers who spoke to the students about their own professional careers as well as students who talked about their own educational experience. “We have talked to college deans, community leaders, councilmen, CEO’s, business leaders, the networking is endless, and I think that’s very important because a big part of your career is not just what you know but also who you know. Those connections can take you a long way,” said student at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School, Tyler Eugh. “I think a big component of furthering your education is getting with people who also want to further their education. I believe that iron sharpens iron, and you should surround yourself with people who are trying to do better for themselves,” said Christian Hosea, student at BrewTech.
