Readers appreciate what’s been done to find homes for veterans; are glad to see coverage of the Asian American community; disagree with a column about professors at Texas universities; and suggest a book to help reduce divisiveness.
Thank you for this wonderful coverage, and we hope there will be more to come. I have been a faithful reader of your newspaper since 1974. This is the first time I’ve seen so many wonderful stories about Asian Americans in your newspaper. Thank you so much,Kolasinski is correct to state that “Texas statesmen and UT alumni should ask themselves” why students are “willing to disrupt campus life to express their displeasure with Israel.” But his answer to me seems pretty weak.
Certainly not all students will be so informed. But it is neither accurate nor wise to dismiss them all as unwitting dupes.I am a retired academic and just read Kolasinski’s op-ed regarding who should be faculty in the Texas university systems and why. He is obviously a strong conservative and shares his beliefs and philosophy that diversity in education and freedom of speech can and should be limited at all universities.
