The Supreme Court is pictured, June 30, 2024, in Washington. President Joe Biden went public Monday, July 29, with major changes he's proposing for the Supreme Court: an enforceable code of ethics, term limits for justices and a constitutional amendment that would limit the justices' recent decision on presidential immunity.
Biden needs to be careful with the “no presidential immunity” issue because he and his family have questionable connections with some foreign countries. And actually, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama could then be charged for the alleged crimes they committed as president. It’s comical how the Democrats scream about “a threat to our democracy,” yet threaten democracy almost on a daily basis.
I’m sorry, but in our country we do not have a king or dictator in charge. Our elected officials in the highest offices need to be accountable to the people. The Supreme Court has now created an imperial presidency. This decision is completely un-American, and rendered by a court that is also unaccountable to the people.President Joe Biden wants to limit terms and enforce ethics standards for Supreme Court justices.
