Letters to the Editor
Readers react to the presidential debate; hope everyone is informed about the candidates; urge everyone to vote; and support Medicaid.
But instead of unplugging the TV, why don’t we tune in anyway and try to sift through all the misinformation and lies, and maybe actually gain some insight into the people who claim to have our country and our best interests at heart. Your editorial on voting was spot on! I cannot imagine not exercising my right to vote, yet, as we know, there are many people who don’t as evidenced by the low turnout in our elections.The right to vote is a privilege that not everyone in the world enjoys. It is at the core of our democracy, and not taking advantage of it could lead to losing it.
Now that we are here and have the opportunity to truly elect our leaders, I will take every opportunity given to me to do so. I will not throw away such a precious gift, and I urge others not to do so. So as the title of the editorial says, “Get off the bench!”Re: “Protect life on both sides of the womb — On Dobbs anniversary, red states have made progress, but no state does what’s best for children,” by Abby McCloskey, Monday Opinion.
