It is time for the Biden administration to recognize the peril we face and take steps to strengthen our ties with our southern neighbors.did a great job explaining the issues in South and Central America with regard to immigration issues in the United States. I think every member of Congress should read your editorial. I look forward to your future editorials in the series.

Democracy does not end in one day. Corruption, autocratic leadership and weak institutions gradually eat away at it. Ecuadorian politicians seem more interested in partisan vendettas than in tackling crime. Sound familiar? The piece could have been titled “America’s Fragility” with all that is happening here. And it’s sad that we refuse to see it.Re: “Grief, my constant companion — Life after husband’s death comes with the pain of a new life,” by Jacquielynn Floyd, Sunday Opinion.

I want to thank Mrs. Floyd for penning a column that describes the shock, pain, hurt, grief and confusion one encounters upon the death of a spouse. Her description of all the emotions she went through appeared to be a carbon copy of my own. Hopefully, from her narrative, people will better understand what one goes through when a spouse dies.Re: “America has tiered system of justice — A Black woman and a white man had encounters with police.

The past few years I have noticed on my drive to the mid-cities from Dallas that speed limits are not enforced on the Dallas Tollway, LBJ Freeway and the George Bush Turnpike. There are also very few courteous drivers in Dallas. Just try and get on the Tollway on a busy day, north or south.
