Letters to the Editor

Readers doubt government will cut spending; respond to the column about the DMN’s political biases; urge SMU football to play a State Fair game; and blame the Biden administration for not handling the drone situation.Re: “Big Spenders may thwart DOGE effort in Texas — Musk’s federal crusade has fans here, but state leaders have made expensive plans,” by Bill Peacock, Tuesday Opinion.First, I would ask Mr. Peacock what benefits from spending he is willing to cut.

The perfect example is the negativity toward conservative Republican voters and the bias against Donald Trump. Any nugget of negative information regarding Trump is normally front page, but last week when ABC News agreed to pay him $15 million for its usual false reporting regarding him, that news was not on the front page, but lower on the second page.is not partisan in any way and there is no need to go transparent and reveal the political affiliation of its journalist, I politely disagree.

Sure, moving a campus home game to Dallas would cost the program money, but a partnership with the city could make up for it in other ways that benefit both. For sports fans who are non-SMU alums, it seems like too easy a game plan to not execute on the field.I totally agree with Lebovitz about the 3% fee to use a credit card. The 3% fee for using a credit card tells me the business is in financial trouble, or they are cheap.I had my car serviced at a Cadillac dealership in Frisco. I was shocked when I checked out and I was told about the fee. As an elderly person who has had her purse stolen, I often only carry a credit card.

And to ice this cake, what has been done about the drones seen flying over a military base in England where there are U.S. F-35 Stealth Fighters based?
